Difference Between M Sand and River Sand

Difference Between M Sand and River Sand

M Sand:

  • M sand is manufactured in factories.
  • It is manufactured by quarrying stones, crushing rocks, or larger aggregate pieces into sand size particles in a factory or quarry.
  • The shape is cubical and angular, has a rough texture, and is hence better for concrete.
  • It has a low moisture content.
  • This sand highly recommended for RRC purposes and brickwork

River Sand:

  • This is naturally available on riverbanks.
  • This is naturally extracted from the riverbanks or river beds.
  • The shape of natural sand is rounded and has a smooth surface.
  • Moisture is generally present between the particles. Hence, it affects the assumptions of concrete mix designs and the quality of concrete.
  • River sand is recommended for RCC, Plastering, and brick block.
